The UNMUTE Constitution

What exactly happens in a 90-minute UNMUTE event?

UNMUTE is a guided community conversation — not a seminar, lecture, networking event or talent show. Every event follows the same experience.

01 · Phase 1 — Arrival
10–15 min

Participants arrive to soft live music or instrumental music.

They receive a name badge, a reflection card, the community guidelines and an anonymous question card.

“What is one thing you wish people understood about you?”

Cards are placed anonymously into the UNMUTE Box. This immediately creates honesty before anyone speaks.

02 · Phase 2 — Welcome
10 min

The host introduces why UNMUTE exists, the community values, the theme of the evening and the safe-space guidelines.

Nobody is here to impress. Everybody is here to connect.

03 · Phase 3 — Stories
30 min

Three carefully curated personal stories.

Each story focuses on: Situation · Struggle · Turning Point · Learning · Hope.

No motivational speeches. No lectures. Only authentic lived experiences.

04 · Phase 4 — Creative Expression
15 min

Music, poetry, spoken word, acoustic performance or a short reflective stand-up.

Creativity helps people process emotions differently.

05 · Phase 5 — Community Dialogue
20 min

Facilitated conversation — no debates, no arguments.

Participants reflect on guided questions. Anonymous cards are read. People respond voluntarily.

06 · Phase 6 — Closing Circle
10 min

Every participant shares: one word, one insight, one action they will take.

Participants leave with reflection instead of information.

The Story Booth

A separate recording space, open throughout the event.

Participants who wish to share their stories privately can record them. This creates the UNMUTE Story Archive.

The event does not end with applause. It ends with human connection.
